EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS TO UPHOLD JUDGMENT AGAINST ARMENIA
The European Court of Human Rights issued a judgment against Armenia. On 13 January the court upheld the claim of the member of “Republic” party Zhora Sapeyan, as well as Sargis Amiryan and Maxim Gasparyan.
To remind the latter applied to the European Court of Human Rights in 2003 when after the presidential elections they took part in an unauthorized meeting in the aftermath of which Amiryan and Gasparyan were arrested 10 days and Sapeyan was fined. They applied to the European Court of Human Rights after they remained unsatisfied by the decision of the local court bodies.
Deputy Minister of Justice Emil Babayan said to Panorama.am, that by the decision of the European Court of Human Rights the article 11of the European Convention of Human Rights has been violated.
