68 IRAQ CITIZENS GRANTED TEMPORARY ASYLUM
In 2008 the Agency of Migration of the Ministry of Territorial Administration received 190 applications to be granted temporary asylum in Armenia, said Ruzanna Petrosyan of the Ministry. According to her 122 of them were Georgians and 68 Iraqi people.
R. Petrosyan said that the applications of Georgian citizens are being discussed, irrespective to it all Iraqi people have been granted temporary asylum.
In 2008 15 people from Iran, Turkey and Georgia applied to the agency as refugees. Currently only 6 of them have been recognized as refugees.
