ECONOMIST: “BLACK TUESDAY OR PERFECT DISORDER”
“What we have eye witnessed yesterday was “a black Tuesday” when we lived a perfect disorder. Though the on-line publications were trying to give the soonest information but both, the President and the Prime Minister kept silence,” said economist Andranik Tevanyan in a press conference today.
According to him they have recommended the authorities to pass the flexible exchange rate regime which would bring to smooth and balanced increase of currency, but then, the proposal was ignored. Now the authorities announce “You told to pass this regime, and we have done it” says A. Tevanyan.
Tevanyan ensures that if they passed flexible exchange rate regime in the middle of the previous year, then 370 million USD would not be wasted from the state reserves.
The economist explained the current situation this way: “Imagine you’re living on the tenth floor. Suddenly the ground floor is burning and you know you need to leave the building but you are not allowed to until the fire becomes more massive. And then they tell you to throw yourself just from the tenth floor.”
