ARMENIANS FROM DIASPORA CONTINUE VISITING ARMENIA
The rate of organized tourism in Armenia is the 15-20% of the general visits of the country. The rest of visits are individual tours and 60% of them are the number of visits from Diaspora, announced the head of tourism development department of the Ministry of Economy Mekhak Apresyan. According to him the number of organized tours will be cut down in the aftermath of the financial crisis.
According to the head of the agency the more tourists from Russia, Georgia, European Union Countries, Iran, USA, as well as Taiwan, Thailand and Japan visit Armenia.
Armenian rich cultural heritage, local people who were the first to adopt Christianity, nature are basic facts to attract tourists, says Apresyan.
