$US3 BILLION LOAN FOR MEXICO TO FIGHT SWINE FLU EFFECTS
The Inter-American Development Bank has announced it would approve $US3 billion ($4.11 billon) in loans for Mexico to fight the effects of the swine flu and the global economic crisis.
The effects of the swine flu crisis could worsen Mexico's contraction, adding to the economic slowdown caused by decreases in remittances and exports, the IDB official press release says.
The IDB "will support programs designed to defend the progress Mexico made against poverty in recent years.''
Remind that earlier the World Bank has agreed to give Mexico $205 million in loans to help fight the swine flu epidemic.
