30 AGREEMENTS MADE IN CANNES FILM MARKET
Armenian national film center delegation returned back from film market held in the frameworks of Cannes film festival on 12-22 May. Gevorg Gevorgyan, the director of national film center told the reporters that Armenia’s participation to the market could be assessed positively.
According to him the current year is successful for Armenia. It was the first year Armenia attended the film market and a small pavilion was rented as they did not have serious expectations because Armenian film market is not well introduced abroad. But it was a success, as, according to Gevorgyan, the Armenian pavilion was well presented and crowded.
About 30 films have been presented in the market. Though no film is sold, many proposals have been made. According to Gevorgyan it’s not as easier to sell a film, as the producer or the company should get acquainted with the film and then decide whether to buy it or not. Gevorgyan said that they have 30 agreements at the end of the market.
