There are 30 million drug addicted, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes reports. The report says that illegal drug production and demand has decreased. The exception is new chemical drugs which “fame” has increased. Among the most wide spread drug are marijuana, the drug use of which reaches 143-190 million. About 20 million people use cocaine.

The worst situation with drug use is in the countries of Central, South and North America, and in Caribbean islands. Here, 42 million people use marijuana, 9 million cocaine, about 10 million ecstasies.

In Europe, about 30 people use marijuana. 4.5 cocaine. It should be noted, that in the report there are also figures about Armenia, thus, during 2008 about 1091 people have applied to Drug Clinic from which 205 are drug addicted, others suffer from alcoholism. As compared to 2007, the number of applied people has increased, in 2007 there were 981 people, 122 out of which wanted to be cured from drug addiction.
