GOLDEN APRICOT SIXTH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL TO BE LAUNCHED
110 films from 40 countries, about 50 Armenian films are to be shown at “Golden Apricot” sixth international film festival from 12 to 19 July.
It is the sixth year the festival gives opportunity to Armenian audience to watch films nominated in different international festivals, to communicate with famous leaders of film production. Three categories are nominated - international feature films, documentaries, and the “Armenian panorama”.
This year marks the 85th birthday anniversary of [famous Soviet Armenian film director and artist] Sergey Parajanov and the 40th anniversary of his film “Color of Pomegranates”. The popular film will be shown during the festival. A series of retrospectives is also planned.
According to organizers, unlike previous years, this year the festival will have a new program, “Masters”, that will include three films dedicated to film directors Luis Bunuel, Michelangelo Antonioni and Tonino Guerra.
