OFFICIAL SAYS TAILING DAM NOT TAKEN TO SEVAN
The tailing dam of Ararat gold Recovery Company will not be taken back to Lake Sevan, Vladimir Movsisyan, the chairman of the committee on Sevan problems told the reporters today at news conference. First the tailing dam was in Sevan and later it was taken to Ararat.
“I ensure that it will not be taken back to Sevan. The committee’s decision is unequivocal as it is forbidden by the law,” Movsisyan said reminding that the law on Sevan defines that the construction of mining objects is forbidden in Sevan.
The committee chairman said that 29 different mining are exploited in Sevan. He said that 28 rivers water the lakes which are not clean.
