“NABUCCO” AGREEMENT TO BE SIGNED IN TURKEY
Inter-governmental agreement will be signed today in Ankara on “Nabucco” pipeline construction, foreign media reports. The participant energy companies of the consortium are Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria and Germany.
The negotiations to prepare the final document started in January with the European Union cooperation. In June the negotiations have been agreed on signing a joint document.
Representatives of the project states will be present at the official ceremony of singing the document, as well as U.S. Assistant State Secretary Matthew Bryza.
The Nabucco pipeline will transport natural gas from Turkey to Austria, via Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary. It will run from Erzurum in Turkey to Baumgarten an der March, a major natural gas hub in Austria with total length of 3,300 kilometers. It will be connected near Erzurum with the Tabriz-Erzurum pipeline, and with the South Caucasus Pipeline, connecting Nabucco Pipeline with the planned Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline.
