“HAY FEST” INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL TO BE LAUNCHED IN YEREVAN
“HAY FEST” seventh international theater festival will be launched from 1 to 8 October, Arthur Ghukasyan, the chairman of the festival told at news conference.
He said the festival is going to be small this year, but it does not mean it’s going to be a bad one. About 33 theatre groups from 22 countries are going to attend the festival, including Great Britain, USA, Russia, Canada, Slovenia, Poland, Israel, France, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Netherlands, Iran and Armenia.
Note that previous year 32 theatre groups from 62 states submitted participation applications.
“Because of the financial crisis, the theatres have not submitted participation applications,” A. Ghukasyan said.
About 50 performances on 16 stages will be presented to the public. World wide famous theatres from France, Switzerland and Bulgaria will also attend the festival. International experts from London, Prague and St. Petersburg are invited to host the festival.
