OPENING OF ARMENIAN-TURKISH BORDER CUTS TRANSPORTATION THROUGH GEORGIA
“South Caucasus Railways” is ready to resume railway communications between Armenia and Turkey if correspondent political and technical decisions are made on this respect, Marat Khakov, of the company told reporters at news conference.
According to the company’s representative the freight train speed will be 15/25km/h when the communication is resumed.
It has been also said that the freight transportation through Georgia will be cut when the new railway works.
“When Armenian-Turkish border is opened, Gyumri-Ayrum railway demand will be reduced,” deputy director said.
