INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR OF ART CRITICS UNDER WAY IN YEREVAN
International art critics’ seminar called “Between past and present” is under way in Armenia.
The chairman of National Association of Art Critics Nazaret Karoyan told that 11 critics and experts from France, turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and other countries attend the seminar.
According to the chairman of the association the mission of the seminar is to show that art critics do exist in Armenia, but which is not well developed. Hence, they will be trying to contribute to its development.
Armenian Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosyan pointed that the seminar is a significant one, as the art critics have finally got a chance to join.
“Art is a communication among artists and art critics. But most often the silence kept by the art critics leaves as aftermath disorientation of what to follow and what kind of art to create in 21st century. If the past cultural values are worth to be respected, currently it is rare that art critics criticize this or that type of art,” the minister said.
Culture Minister said that today we do really need art critics to help make it better.
