Ali of our times – Iran’s Supreme Leader died
According to numerous rumors, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is in coma, at least according to a well known American foreign policy expert.
Basing his October 13 entry in the pyjamasmedia.com blog-site not on the rumors "floating around the net for the past day or so" but rather on information from "a person who is in a position to know such things," Michael Ledeen has added his significant voice to the choir of speculation on Khamenei's deteriorating health, while not ignoring his own premature past report of Khamenei's death.
It is also reported by another media outlets that the supreme leader died on October 14, 2009, of natural causes. The formal announcement is expected by some to be made tomorrow morning, October 15, 2009. Three years ago there were similar rumors which turned out to be false. He is currently 70 years old.
Khamenei has increasingly been described as the “Ali of our times” in the official media.
