Tal Memorial held in Moscow with the participation of the world’s best chess-players is over now. In the final round the Armenian GM Levon Aronian won against the world champion Viswanathan Anand. Thus, the defeat did not allow the champion to keep equal with Kramnik.

Norwegian Magnus Carlsen defeated the Hungarian Peter Leko. Ruslan Ponomariov, in turn, gained a victory over Alexander Morozevich. Vassily Ivanchuk – Vladimir Kramnik, Peter Svidler – Boris Gelfand pairings ended in draw.
Thus, the world’s ex-champion Kramnik scored 6 and won the Memorial.

Kramnik is going to have his next rounds in London tournament due December 7. Carlsen and the two English veterans Nigel Short and Michael Adams are also to perform there.

In Tal Memorial Ivanchuk and Carlsen shared 2-3 horizontals with 5,5 points each. Aronian and Anand followed them with 5 points. Gelfand ranked 6th with 4,5 points. Ponomariov scored 4, Svidler – 3,5. Leko and Morozevich ended last with 3 points.
