Ph. Gordon: Obama Administration has no deal with congressional leaders to block the Armenian Genocide Resolution
Obama Administration has no deal with Democratic congressional leaders to block the Resolution recognizing the World War I-era killings of Armenians by Ottoman Turks as Genocide at the US House of Representatives, the US Assistant Secretary of State Philip Gordon told reporters ahead of speech at the Brookings Institution.
"Congress is an independent body, and they are going to do what they decide to do," Gordon said rejecting the information as if Obama Administration has agreed with the Congressmen to oppose the resolution.
Note that previously some media made reports on the issue quoting the US State Department unanimous sources, while the Turkish officials take this as a guarantee over prevention of the further advancement of the issue.
