Erdogan talked to reporters before his travel to Washington
Turkey’s PM Rejep Tayip Erdogan left for Washington at the invitation U.S. President Barack Obama to attend Global Nuclear Summit. According to Turkish media Erdogan talked to the reporters before his flight just in the airport. Erdogan said the highlight of his meeting with the White House Chief will be the Armenian-Turkish process.
Erdogan told about his message to official Yerevan sent by his special envoy: “We want the OSCE MG become more active to settle peace in the region and to start more efficient activities. We’ve met with Obama, Medvedev and Sakozy. They are also of the same thoughts. We’re going to meet another time in America.”
To the question if after the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs approved the resolution on Armenian Genocide leaving for Washington means the ties are getting normalized, Turkish PM answered they’ve condemned that article and now they feel some “soft approach” in Turkish-American ties.
