WYMD calls on Azerbaijan for immediate release of young activists
25 countries from every continent participated at the 6th assembly of the World Youth Movement for Democracy (WYMD) in Jakarta, Indonesia. WYMD issued a statement, noting that young people are often at the forefront of democracy promotion and democratic change in countries around the world.
In the statement the WYMD says it’s concerned over the continuous repression of young people and students engaged in democracy work and expresses its solidarity with young people imprisoned due to their beliefs and activism.
Particularly, WYMD calls for the immediate release of young activists Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade from Azerbaijan and respect their human rights in their own country.
