"Shanghai 2010" to get underway May 1
“Shanghai 2010” is due to get underway May 1, Armenian Deputy Economy Minister Ara Petrosyan told reporters today.
According to the Deputy Minister, this is not the first time Armenia participates in such an event. The exhibition will take 6 months and is due by October 31.
“The Armenian booth will be located in the European sector. The exhibition occupies 6kmx1km territory, the Armenian booth has been provided 500 sq. meters. 7 countries are represented in the European sector, including Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Unprecedented number of guests will visit the exhibition, with 70-100 mln. visitors expected,” A. Patrosyan said.
The theme of the exhibition was announced by the organizers: “The World City”. The Deputy Minister said, great interest in the Armenian theme is observed.
“An expo magazine has already published a material on the Armenian booth. Our booth will also be available online from May 1, at www.expo.cn,” A. Petrosyan said.
Note that 30 states had made a bid for online presentation and only 13 have been approved, including Armenia.
The Armenian Economy Ministry is the chief commissioner of the event, with the Armenian Development Agency being the operator. 500mln. AMD has been allocated for the project from the state budget, $650 thousand more has been provided by the Chinese side.
