Reporters Without Borders slams Azerbaijan over violations
The international media watchdog Reporters Without Borders has criticized the actions of the Azerbaijani police against the journalists, Turan reported.
Note that Azerbaijani police violently dispersed the protest action participants in Baku April 26. About 8 dozens of protesters have been assaulted and taken to the police. 5 reporters were among those assaulted; the police even broke their cameras.
“We were shocked and are concerned over the assaulted 5 reporters,” the statement says.
The police blocked the reporters covering the opposition protest action and insulted them. But this was not enough and they beat the latter and broke their cameras.
“Reporters Without Borders condemns the police violations,” the report says.
