St Louis Championship: Varuzhan Akobian scored 5 points
The 8thand 9throundsofU.S. ChessChampionship, StLouistookplace. Armenian GM Varuzhan Akobian first finished his set with Elvest in Draw and then defeated Robson in another round. The latter defeated Armenian chess player Khachiyan in the 8th round but Khachiyan ended another round in draw with Shankland scoring half points.
Levon Altunyan first was defeated by Benjamin and said had a successful set with Gurchiyev.
Currently Varuzhan Akobian scored 5 points gaining 7th horizontal, Khachiyan and Altunyan have 3,5 points each.
