It’s impossible to transport armament through Upper Lars checkpoint
It’s impossible to take armament through Upper Lars checkpoint without informing the Georgian side about it, director of a cargo shipping company in Armenia Gagik Aghajanyan told reporters Wednesday. He said the checkpoint is supplied with super- contemporary technics, which scan the whole cargo and the Georgian side will not permit transportation of armament for Gyumri military base through this border.
Note that the Georgian opposition had made statements that it’s only Russia that needs the opening of Kazbeki-Upper Lars checkpoint. The Armenian side should use it during the two summer months for transportation of food, while Russia should use it to ship armament for its Gyumri military base during the remaining period of the year.
