Marmashen village school gym fully equipped with support of Orange Armenia
Today the inauguration of the newly restored gym of Marmashen village school (marz Shirak) took place within the frames of the charity program of Orange directed to children. The gym has been furnished with new sport equipments with the support of Orange. Like other projects of support to rural areas, this project has been realized in cooperation with the charity organization “SHEN”.
According to Orange Armenia press office, the gym of the school which has been furnished with sport equipments necessary for different sports will now be able to satisfy all needs of the sport program of the school. Already in September the newly equipped gym will host old and new pupils of the school. And before September, the existence of the sport equipments will also allow setting up different sport circles and organizing events during summer vacations.
“As you may know, children and vulnerable rural areas are at the centre of our charity program. When Shen proposed us this project to furnish this gym, and when we learned about the „sport” potential of this village, in the same time knowing that the community was also ready to invest in the project, we were really enthusiastic”, said Bruno Duthoit, Orange Armenia CEO.
Marmashen is one of those villages of Armenia which can be proud of their sport past and present: more than 20 champions of Armenia and USSR, more than 100 winners of Armenia and USSR, 5 masters of sport and an actual champion.
„It is extremely important for us that the project has been co-financed by Shen and Marmashen community. This is a very good example of how together we can do more”, said Bruno Duthoit, Orange Armenia CEO.
And for the celebration of the project Orange arrived to Marmashen with a special surprise. The head of the company was accompanied by the newly formed football team of Orange which competed in a friendly match with the united team of Marmashen.
Within the frames of the project the Gym has been completely furnished and reworked from outside, for which Orange has allocated total 4,139,000 AMD.
