Diaspora Minister: Оur ancestral 'apricot-flavored' song will turn to real triumphant fireworks
Oslo will host the second semi-final of 2010 Eurovision Song Contest today, May 27. The contestants will perform in the following running order: Lithuania, Armenia, Israel, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, Ireland, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Georgia, and finally, Turkey.
The Armenian Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan made an appeal to the Armenians of Europe and all those who, irrespective of their country of residence, live with Armenians and with Armenia, and want the name of Armenia sound with high virtue in any international contest.
“Dear friends, the moment has come once again for unification and victory. May Armenia win, may the triumphant flag of Armenia flutter,” the Minister said.
She highlighted that May is a month of glorious victories for Armenians. For the sake of another victory, our dear Armenian Eva Rivas will present the Armenian song on May 27, 2010.
“Eventually, “Apricot Stone” is ours, only ours and it will sound from Eva’s lips for the whole world. I am convinced that the performance of our ancestral “apricot-flavored” song will turn to real triumphant fireworks and the Diaspora, our pillar and supporter here as well, will pick the berries of the investment it has had through endless Viva Armenia, Viva Eva Rivas calls and a real cultural victory,” she said.
