Oslo to host second semi-final of 2010 Eurovision Song Contest today
Oslo will host the second semi-final of 2010 Eurovision Song Contest today, May 27 to approve 10 more contestants. Lithuania, Armenia, Israel, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, Ireland, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Georgia, and finally, Turkey: these are the countries to perform today and 10 of them will advance to the final to join the 15 already revealed. The show is due ay 12 am local time and will be aired live by Public TV of Armenia.
Note that the contestants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Russia, Greece, Portugal, Belarus, Serbia, Belgium, Albania and Iceland have qualified for the final. The big 4, France, Germany, Spain and UK, as well as the winner of Eurovision 2009, Norway, are in the final already.
The Armenian representative Eva Rivas is to perform second tonight. She will appear with the song “Apricot Stone” (music: Armen Martirosyan, lyrics: Karen Kavaleryan). The outstanding Armenian duduk-player Jivan Gasparyan, as well as singer Tigran Petrosyan, “Dorians” soloist Gor Sujyan, Mariam Mehrabova (back vocal) and a dancer will accompany Eva Rivas on the stage.
The show is quite unique and impressive. Note that according to bookmakers, Eva Rivas pretends to get good positions.
Remind that this is the 5th time Armenia is participating in the contest. Previously Armenia was represented by Andre, Hayko (8th position), Sirusho (4th position), Inga and Anush Arshakyan (10th).
