First Lady: Granting happiness to others is bigger even happiness

Everyone present at Yerevan Chamber Theatre late Monday evening, public, political figures, representatives of the health and culture sphere got moved, cried, then applauded and laughed for several times. This was brought about not by the theatre performance but the real stories of recovering and recovered children.

“Armaveni” charity foundation was celebrating its 10th jubilee and telling everyone present about the successes it had during the previous years, its today’s concerns and problems, and thank-you-s to everyone who cooperated with it, expecting the continuation of cooperation with them. There are supporters and it even happened that the sponsor found the patient.

The motto of the foundation is “Walk proudly.”

“If a child suffers from osteological illnesses, they cannot walk proudly. If you pass by such a patient and can help them but don’t do that, you cannot walk proudly. We feel happy and proud of the treatment results. Then these are united, a miracle happens. Hopeless patient can recover, go to work, make a family,” the Preesident of the foundation, professor Arshak Mirzoyan, the son of the renowned composer Edward Mirzoyan, said. The foundation discovers people with congenial and acquired illnesses, then obtains necessary funds for their treatment and conducts the treatment.

The doctors cooperating with the foundation are led by the world-famous scientist Izalov’s method and advice. “Doctor should watch nature closely, learn from it, and be able to correct its mistakes,” the doctor said. A. Mirzoyan has worked under his direct supervision for 10 years.

Over 70 children from different regions of Armenia, Artsakh and Javakhk have been treated during the 10 years. This many children can already run with their friends, attend physical education classes at school. Some of them have got married, bore children.

Yesterday the recovered children gave flowers to their sponsors, the president of the foundation and the Armenian First Lady Rita Sargsyan. One of them sat on the knees of the First Lady after giving flowers to her and so he sat by the end of the event. The First Lady confessed that she with fear accepted Prof. Mirzoyan’s offer over becoming the honored president. Today the fear has been overcome, 29 children have been treated, the treatment of 9 of them has been financed by Serzh and Rita Sargsyan.

The director of the foundation Arsen Vahanyan said 23 children were treated and recovered in 2006-2009. While Mrs. Rita Sargsyan’s Chairmanship has proved efficient, the foundation representatives say.

’’When it comes to children, people cannot be indifferent. Most children expect, expect with hope, and we want to disappoint them. Let’s walk proudly together,’’ First lady said last year.

Last year she was given a symbolic palm, while yesterday the First Lady was given a growing palm with green leaves.

R. Sargsyan was very excited. She thanked the sponsors and voiced hope that they will continue to grant miracles to children and make them happy.

“I understood that granting happiness to others is bigger even happiness. I thank everyone who participated in the project and everyone who is going to participate in the project,” R. Sargsyan said. Prof. A. Mirzoyan added that First lady’s honored chairmanship is both encouraging and obliging.

At the end of the event, some of those present expressed readiness to care for the treatment of the children.
