Number of tourists visiting Armenia has grown for over 100% this year
In the first quarter of 2010 the number of tourists having visited Armenia has grown by 10.9.4% as compared to the previous year. According to the information published by the national statistics service, 92.955 tourists have visited Armenia in January-March, 2010, while the number was 84.995 for the same period in 2009.
During the same period 90.950 tourists departed from Armenia, 107.1% more than during the same period in 2009.
According to the information received from hotels, in January-March, 2010, 19.7% of tourists arrived in Armenia from CIS, the remaining 80.3% came from France, Germany, UK, USA, Iran, etc.
38.9% of visitors arrived in Armenia on business, 21.3% for rest and entertainment, 1% for treatment, another 38.8% for other purposes.
10.7% of those departing from Armenia leave on business, 14% on holiday, 75.3% for other purposes.
