Yerevan to host Serj Tankian concert in August
Armenian rock musician, "System of a Down" soloist Serj Tankian will feature a single concert in Yerevan Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex on August 12. The head of the concert organizing "Deem Communications" company Raffi Niziblyan told reporters Thursday that long time was needed for organization of Serj Tankian’s concert in Armenia.
Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra will join Tankian during the concert. “Classical music will sound interesting with rock,” he said, highlighting that Tankian has such compositions already.
Answering the question whether Tankian may sing in Armenian, Niziblyan said he had been offered to, though, has not given any reply so far.
Tankian will be in Armenia on a single-day visit and will leave on a concert tour from Yerevan.
Tickets, worth 4.000AMD-45.000AMD, will be on sale from July 1.
VivaCell-MTS is the sponsor of the concert.
