Serzh Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev attend signing ceremony of agreement between Universities
Today, within the framework of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Saint Petersburg, a working program on long-term cooperation was signed between Yerevan and Saint Petersburg State Universities, Panorama.am correspondent reported.
Rectors of the two Universities Aram Simonyan and Nikolay Kropachev signed the document in the presence of Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev.
After the signing ceremony the two Presidents and persons accompanying them attended unveiling ceremony of Hovsep Orbeli pedestal in Saint Petersburg University museum corridor. National Academy of Sciences of Armenia first Chairman Hovsep Orbeli pedestal unveiling was attended by his heir Abgar Orbeli.
After the ceremony the two Presidents walked about the University museum corridor. Dmitry Medvedev noted that the event symbolizes friendship between the two states that “needs to be developed and strengthened.”
Note that both Dmitry Medvedev and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin are graduates of Saint Petersburg State University.
