Azerbaijani official distorts facts
Ali Hasanov, a deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan and chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons said Karabakh is a transit country for drugs and terrorism groupings are being established there, Vesti.az informed.
The most extraordinary thing here is that this is spoken by a country which, in fact, is a transit country for drugs. Note that recently a conference had been organized by two Azerbaijani NGOs (For Human Rights and Committee for Protection of Human Rights) in Baku. Azerbaijan’s Interior Ministry representative Tanriverdi Aydinov said at the conference that 37 out of the 137 drug routes existing in the world pass through Azerbaijan.
As far as terrorism groupings are concerned, note that the court proceedings on 31 terrorists finished in Azerbaijan yesterday. The 31 were charged with cooperating with the international terrorist network, including involvement in terrorist acts in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
