Yakunin: "South Caucasus Railways" to keep working out Armenia-Turkey railway component
The General Manager of “Russian Railways” company Vladimir Yakunin is in Yerevan today. After getting acquainted with the works and the investment activities carried out in Yerevan station and locomotive depot, Yakunin told reporters at the news conference that “South Caucasus Railways” company will continue to work out Armenia-Turkey railway component.
According to him, works are conducted in this direction, though, there are still unsolved political problems.
V. Yakunin said inter-state, political issues and relations are beyond the authority of “Russian Railways” and “South Caucasus Railways”, hence, they are building their strategy in an approach that “the issues will be settled sooner or later.”
Besides, he noted that they are conducting works in the frames of the international railway cooperation and bilateral cooperation so that railway transportation can function irrespective of political disaccord.
Speaking about the activity of “South Caucasus Railways”, he reminded that the company is a focus of attention by the government in terms of investments and assessed the investments as efficient.
