Finland to mint about 600 tonnes of euro coins for Estonia
The Mint of Finland has won an order from Estonia to mint about 600 tonnes of euro coins, Helsinki Times reported.
The production of Estonian euro coins will start next Tuesday.
Estonian euro coins will be produced in Vantaa. Estonia does not have its own mint.
The Bank of Estonia will start transporting the coins to Estonia in September.
The Mint of Finland has not disclosed the value of the order.
On Tuesday, the EU formally welcomed Estonia as the 17th member of the eurozone, paving the way for euro adoption on 1 January 2011.
