Russia to construct nuclear power plant in Turkey
Turkish parliament has approved a bill on agreement between Turkey and Russia on construction of Akkuyu nuclear power plant.
The parliament enacted the bill approving the cooperation agreement signed by Turkey and Russia in the Turkish capital of Ankara on May 12, 2010.
According to the agreement, the two countries will cooperate in construction and operation of nuclear power plant in Akkuyu in southern province of Mersin. Russian party will launch the construction works three months after signing the agreement, Cumhuriyet reported.
