Heavy floods keep hitting Azerbaijan
Gujarat river burst its banks after the heavy rains and caused a serious damage to Sheki city and neighboring villages, about 300 km northwest of Baku, Turan reported.
Turan’s correspondent reported that one thirds, mainly the old part of the Sheki city, has been flooded. The mud streams have washed away asphalt at several streets and a bridge foundation on the Baku-Sheki highway. Local population still has problems with water and gas supplies.
The civilians suffered from the floods have asked local executive administration for help. However, the local administration is unable to eliminate consequences of the flood.
