Boxing: Kentikian vs. Mucino bout ends in technical draw
In a disappointing outcome, the sensational WBO/WBA/WIBF flyweight champion Susi Kentikian (27-0, 16 KOs) and Arely Mucino (11-0-1, 6 KOs) had their highly anticipated match end in a third round technical draw on Saturday night after the 5’1″, 22-year-old Kentikian was cut on her scalp from a heat butt with Mucino at the Sport and Congress Center, Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The fight was stopped by referee Joe Cortez, foreign media reported.
Up until that point in the fight, Kentikian was giving Mucino all kinds of problems with her fast combinations, in and out attacks and power shots. It looked like Kentikian was the stronger fighter at that point. However, there were still seven rounds to go and there was much to be decided. The outcome doesn’t change anything, however. The talented Kentikian is still undefeated and is still the WBO/WBA/WIBF flyweight champion until someone good enough can come along beat her.
