A. Kerimli: Renewed version of Madrid principles demands one-sided concession from Azerbaijan
Concerning situation on the eve of parliamentary elections in November, there are not conditions for normal democratic elections, the leader of PPFA Ali Kerimli said in an interview to Turan.
“The opposition does not have access to TV channels; it is not allowed to make rallies and to meet with electors in regions. The opposition does not have its offices. I myself do not have a passport,” Kerimli said.
The argument against total pressing by authorities is that absolute majority of population is against authorities, and will support the opposition. Even under such conditions the opposition can have successful election campaign and win elections, as it was in 2003 and in 2005, Kerimli said.
Concerning the situation at the talks on the resolution of Karabakh conflict, Kerimli said that situation is not favorable for Azerbaijan. “The renewed version of Madrid principles demands one-sided concession from Azerbaijan, the conduction of referendum in Karabakh regarding its status means Azerbaijan will lose Karabakh,” he noted.
