ECHR rejects claims of RA citizens against Armenia
Two claims were submitted with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) against the Republic of Armenia over the expropriation of the immovable property and deprivation of possessions, the first one being Papyan and Davtyan’s claim against Armenia, and, second, Hovhannisyan and Gevorgyan's claim against Armenia. The Court rejected both claims, according to the RA government representative’s office to the ECHR.
Papyan and Davtyan demanded from Armenia 349 thousand euros, while Hovhannisyan and Gevorgyan demanded a compensation of 1,997,565 euros.
The Government objected claiming that plaintiffs didn’t make use of all the inner-state protection measures. The circumstances and issues submitted with the ECHR were missing during the inner-state court hearings, thus, the Government considers that the formula of Article 34 of the Convention has been violated. Basing on the Government’s objections, the Court considered both claims inadmissible.
