Boxing: Vanes Martirosyan to defend title vs. Miguel Cotto
A push is being made to give undefeated Vanes Martirosyan (28-0, 17KOs) a shot at Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28KOs) and his WBA title, Boxingscene reported. This would be Martirosyan's first world title and Miguel Cotto's first title defense at 154 pounds.
It’s been rumored that Martirosyan’s trainer Freddie Roach really likes the matchup for his fighter and has been pushing to get the fight made. Top Rank wants Kotto return in winter and and may have him lined up in 2011 for the winner of Manny Pasquiao-Antonio Margarito fight.
