Azerbaijan: Participants of protest action shouted Resignation!
On Saturday police dispersed the joint demonstration of Musavat and the Popular Front of Azerbaijan party (PPFA). The demonstrators demanded observation of freedom of assembly, democratic parliamentary elections and taking into account Azerbaijan's interests at the talks on the Karabakh conflict settlement, Turan reported.
Several opposition activists have been detained before the action.
Later, the first group of demonstrators scanned Freedom, Free Elections and Resignation at the Fountain Square. Policemen detained 15-20 people in front of Nargiz shopping center. Policemen tried to cover mouths of the demonstrators shouting Resignation!
Total number of detainees has hit about 100 people. This is the seventh protest action of the opposition during the past 4 months, which has been dispersed by the police.
