Azerbaijan has refused providing airspace to a German plane flying to Yerevan
Azerbaijan has refused providing its airspace to a German plane which was on its way back to Yerevan from Afghanistan.
As Radio Liberty reports, citing sources of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, the plane transporting a group of Armenian peacekeepers, who had completed their mission, was forced to fly by another way. The Armenian peacekeepers have not returned Armenia yet. The Defense Ministry of Armenia considered this incident an attempt to impede the process of supplying Afghanistan with NATO forces.
Radio station also mentioned that in the Armenian Defense Ministry the possibility of closing the Armenian airspace of transporting military cargo planes landing in Baku is being discussed, although the Armenian side has always kept its airspace open for the planes that fly from Turkey to Azerbaijan and then to Afghanistan and back.
