“About 30 hectares of forests have been affected by wildfires in Azerbaijan, due to the carelessness of farmers and irresponsible actions of the youth having picnics there,” the leading specialist of Azerbaijan’s Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry Siayset Garayev told Vesti.az.

He said, Azerbaijani farmers burn the sown areas after they finish the agriculture activities and fires spread all over the country.

Remind that for quite a long period Azerbaijani media reported quoting local officials that the Armenian side (sometimes even the Armenian servicemen) commits arson in the fields near the Karabakhi-Azerbaijani border, and fires spread to Azerbaijan.

Note that the head of the central information department of Artsakh president’s office, David Babayan, had many times refuted this disinformation, saying: “taking into account the climate and relief, fires are impossible to spread to Azerbaijani side from Artsakh.”

He said, that from the geographical viewpoint winds blow from Azerbaijani side, the field of Mugham, hence, it’s impossible for
winds to spread fire to Azerbaijan from Artsakh.

The spokesman to NKR Defense Army, Senor Hasratyan, had termed this as another fairy-tale of the Azerbaijani side.

“Karabakhi side has not fired any territories. Let them look for real culprits in Azerbaijan.”

David Babayan told Panorama.am Wednesday that instead of extinguishing fires inside the country, Azerbaijan’s emergencies ministry officials announce the state system should be cleared from all national minorities. When an emergency official raises such isues, it clearly defines the political system of the country.”
