Decision has been made to establish a CSTO peace potential and the formation of these forces is underway currently, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Armenian TV program Real Politik.

“Hopefully, upon the decision of the Collective Security council, the Presidents of the CSTO member states, they can get involved in different peace activities in the future. By the way, these could be activities on the OSCE and UN mandate,” Russian FM said.

Commenting on the formation of the Rapid Reaction Collective Force, the Minister said the formation process is underway actively. “All the states having signed and ratified the Rapid Reaction Collective Force agreement, have provided corresponding subdivisions to these forces.”

As he said, the civil defense forces and the ones directed to fighting the emergencies are foreseen to get involved in the further possible activities of the collective forces.
