Armenia, Russia sign agreement on construction of new block at Armenian Nuclear Power Plant
As part of the Russian President Dmitry Mededev’s state visit to Armenia, an Armenian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in construction of a new nuclear block at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant was signed in Yerevan on August 20.
Following the talks at the presidential residence, Armenia’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisyan and Rosatom chief Sergei Kirienko signed the agreement at the presence of the Presidents of the two countries.
Note that Kirienko had said earlier the Russian side is ready to finance over 20% of the construction expenses.
