Egypt hosts Days of Armenian Culture
Days of Armenian Culture kicked off in Cairo, capital city of Egypt, under the aegis of Minister of Culture of Egypt Farouk Hosni, MFA press office reported.
The solemn opening ceremony of Days of Armenian Culture took place on September 19 at Cairo Opera House Grand Hall. Tatul Altunian Song and Dance Ensemble (Art Director Zhirayr Altunyan) performed a great concert after the solemn ceremony.
The Ensemble will also perform concerts in the towns of Damanhur and Alexandria.
Within the framework of Days of Armenian Culture El-Gomhoria complex hosted a photo exhibition of Director of S. Parajanov House-Museum Zaven Sargsyan dedicated to Armenian architecture.
Armenian official delegation led by Deputy Minister of Culture Arthur Poghosyan was also in Egypt on the occasion of Days of Armenian Culture. The delegation has already had business meetings with Minister of International Cooperation of Egypt, Co-chairman of the Armenian-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission Fayza Abul Naga, Cairo Governor Abdel Azim Wazir, Deputy Minister of Culture of Egypt Hossam Nassar, Director of Cairo Opera House, renowned artist Abdel Moneim Kamel. During the meetings, the parties discussed the prospects of Armenian-Egyptian cultural cooperation, reached agreements on implementation of joint programs. Ambassador of Armenia to Egypt Armen Melkonyan was also present at the meetings.
