US freezes economic cooperation with Azerbaijan?
Idleness is what the American-Azerbaijani economic committee has been doing recently. The holding of the joint sitting of the committee continues to remain indefinite, chairman of the committee from the Azerbaijani side, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov was quoted as saying by Turan.
He said the US Deputy State Secretary used to chair the committee from the American side, however, Washington made no new appointments to this position after the new Administration came to office.
The committee deals with the discussion and implementation of different projects. For years the committee has been holding sittings in Baku and Washington, however, the activity has been suspended for 2 years by now.
