Number of Armenian language classes to increase in Armenian schools of Georgia
“Armenian schools are big role-players in the Georgian education system. We are trying to do everything possible to contribute to the development of these schools,” Georgian Education Minister Dimitri Shashkinin told reporters in Yerevan today.
According to him, the classes of Armenian language have been cut this year temporarily.
“Now children have as many Armenian language classes as the Georgian language ones. I have compared the next year’s education program which foresees more classes both in Armenian and Georgian languages. Next year the schoolchildren will have more classes in Armenian than this year,” he said.
The Armenian Education Minister Armen Ashotyan said Armenia signifies classes of Georgian language conducted in the Armenian schools of Georgia as well, since poor knowledge of Georgian language hindered the graduates to integrate into the Georgian society.
