Levon Aronian to participate in Wijk aan Zee Chess Tournament 2011
The participants for Wijk aan Zee Chess Tournament 2011, due in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands, January 14-30, are known already. The team comprises 5 GMs Viswanathan Anand (India), Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Levon Aronian (Armenia), Vladimir Kramnik and Alexander Grischuk (both from Russia) as top seeds, Corrus Chess informed.
Among the participants are also: Ruslan Ponomariov (Ukraine), Aleksei Shirov (Spain), Hikaru Nakamura (USA), Wang Hao (China), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia), Anish Giri, Erwin l’Ami, Jan Smeets (the Netherlands).
