A. Kaprielyan: “Negotiations held though Saribekyan’s body isn’t yet returned”
“Negotiations over the return of Manvel Saribekyan’s body are still being held though without any positive advancement,” Armen Kaprielyan, the head of the working group on Armenian hostages and captives committee told Panorama.am.
“Azerbaijani authorities handed Saribekyan’s death certificate to Red Cross international organization’s Baku office. Baku office sent it today to us, which has already been translated. We’re informed that the certificate should be given to Saribekyan’s family today,” Kaprielyan said.
Manvel Saribekyan was taken hostage on September 11 by Azerbaijani forces. According to Azerbaijani side Saribekyan committed suicide on October 5, and sent the death certificate to Red Cross 20 days later. Saribekyan’s body isn’t still handed to the Armenian side.
