“Why Turks didn’t make show from St. Kirakos of Diarbeqir prayer?”
“The reasons why Turkey hasn’t made a big scandal from St. Kirakos of Diarbeqir church prayer are several,” Historian of Oriental Institute Rafik Tadevosyan said.
One of the reasons, according to the historian, is that after the scandal over Holy Cross service the Turks could digest their own creations, since the Armenians of Armenia and Diaspora didn’t swallow the bait. “The second reason is that the Turks avoided clashes with the local Kurds. The Turks are afraid of the Kurdish problem today,” the historian said.
Christine Melqonyan, researcher of the institute said that Turkey doesn’t prevent the reconstruction of Armenian churches, being scared of the world.
