Exhibition of President's Award opens in Armenia
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan today visited the exhibition opened at the Artists’ Union of Armenia on the occasion of the 10 years since the establishment of the President’s Award. The works awarded presidential prizes are on display, President’s press service reported.
The annual President’s Award aims to encourage representatives of the fields of culture and science, who have made a considerable contribution to the development of the fields. The authors of the works will have an opportunity to sell their paintings.
Up until now the President’s Award has been awarded to 161 representatives of the spheres of natural, humanitarian and technical sciences, information technologies, physics, medicine, literature, classical music, etc. Since the establishment of the prize the number of spheres has increased. The money awards which are the part of the awards set up with the decree of the president is being provided by “Robert Poghosyan and Sons” Foundation on behalf of Jean and Albert Poghosyans.
The event has been initiated by the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund which is carrying out the prize giving process.
